Early — normal — late: what is expected at each stage, which documents and exam scores must be ready?

When should you start?

Starting an initial consultation 14-18 months before your target academic term is ideal. As this window shrinks, university variety and your scholarship chances decrease.

Early decision / rolling

The September–November early windows are the most advantageous for quota and scholarships. Language scores (TOEFL/IELTS/GRE) should be ready.

Regular period

Applications filling between December–February. As most schools cluster here, motivation letter and reference quality become the differentiator.

Late period

Quota left open after March is usually limited; scholarship opportunities narrow significantly. If your timeline is tight, pathway or foundation programs can be considered.

Which document, when?

  • Transcript & diploma — right after initial consultation
  • Language proficiency — 2-3 months before application date
  • Motivation letter — draft: 3 months ahead, final: 1 month ahead
  • References — request from professors at least 6 weeks ahead
  • Portfolio / sample work — 6-12 weeks of preparation depending on program
